• Check condition of FR, container or ship is suitable to receive relevant cargo.

• Check size of lashing material to estimate MSL.

• Check number of lashing wire/ropes used.

• Check number of turnbuckle used and estimate MSL.

• Ensure grips are properly indented to confirm it is being tauten.

• Ensure wire/ropes are well secured at forward, aft and across to withstand the perils of pitching  and rolling effect.

• Check general condition of cargo.

• Used timber choking or stopper if necessary.
